Metal Detect is useful for finding studs in walls and even can help find lost treasure!
Metal Detect uses the magnetometer available in your phone to detect and measure the surrounding magnetic field. This will allow you to easily detect ferromagnetic objects such as steel, iron, gold, silver, etc…
Main Uses:
* By placing your phone next to bags or pockets it will allow you to detect the presence of these items. This Free application even has a discrete mode which triggers the phone to vibrate rather than emit a sound when metal has been detected.
* Metal Detect also serves as a readily accessible stud finder. If you are looking for the wood studs inside your wall for hanging pictures just slide the phone against the wall and it will let you know where the studs are. This is made possible by the application detecting the presence of the nails in the wood.
* If somebody drops their keys, or some other metallic object in the sand. You can just whip out your phone and help them rapidly determine where those objects are.
